A few weeks ago, I purchased this 240SX from my friend, Jaeke Rowesafeen, in Jacksonville, NC. I first saw it earlier this year on his Facebook page. I fell in love with it. It looked like the start of a fantastic prjkt since there was so much that needed to be done on the exterior. Like 50/50. Unbeknownst to me was that it was Doug Maiorino’s old 240SX from Street Sweeper Gang fame. I’ve heard of Street Sweeper Gang doing their thing in Arizona, but I had no idea that this car is one and the same as seen in some videos and in SuperStreet online magazine. It was someone in my Virginia network who pointed it out to me.

This is the car as it was in 2014 in Arizona…

After the first hour of shock wore off, I thought how cool it is to have a car that is well-known in North America in the drift scene.

Back to the beginning, Jaeke posted this car for sale in 240SX Parts Only Group in Facebook. I was elated! Within the hour of it being posted, I got in contact with Jaeke and said I want the car and I gave what he asked. Why? Firstly, this car is gorgeous and has room to improve on. Secondly, if I were to price out everything that is on and in the car and try to buy it all, I would be well within the $11K range. I transferred some cash to hold it while I made arrangements with Bobby Blake to go to Jacksonville and bring it back to our private place in Alabama. Meanwhile, Jaeke sent me some pictures of the car.

This prjkt will be assessed in October and we will go from there. This much I do know… everybody calls this Doug’s 240, and I honestly do not want to be reminded of this every time I drive the car. I have no problem with paying homage and I did write Doug to say I will honor his time and effort with it when it was hs, as well as a promise to Jaeke to take care of her. As I said earlier, there’s still plenty of work that needs to be done, all over the car. Enough of it to make it a prjktMAYHEM car.

Stay tuned for updates to this prjkt when it gets going.
